The Memosens (r)evolution continues

Many companies are already relying on Memosens technology and achieving greater success in the market.

Three years ago, Memosens sensor technology from Endress+Hauser revolutionized the world of analytical measurement technology. Many companies in the chemical, pharmaceutical, food and wastewater technology sectors have already been very successful in switching their plants around the world to Memosens, thereby creating a new factory standard. More companies are planning to make the switch and to use Memosens technology to make their plants safer and more productive.

The parameters currently available are pH and ORP, dissolved oxygen and now also conductivity, which means that users have a proper platform to build on. Particularly with regard to pH measurement technology, Endress+Hauser provides all of the sensor types needed to ensure safe plant operation. Memosens technology now accounts for 80 % of all new orders received. To select the right sensor for their process, users can choose

between sensors with liquid, gel or polymer electrolytes and different membrane types. Many companies are now also benefiting from glass-free pH measurement using ISFET sensors with Memosens technology. This will mean that the ideal sensor can be chosen for every application. The main attraction of Memosens technology is the digitalization of the analog measuring signal directly in the sensor.

A second important feature is the "smart" sensor head. This is where all the quality- related data as well as the current measured values are stored and transmitted. These data include temperature, calibration/adjustment values, location, total number of operating hours as well as operating times in extreme process conditions. By analyzing this information, the best possible assessment of the measuring point can be carried out centrally and independently of the location of the measuring point. In addition, the inductive transfer of data and energy eliminates

errors resulting from EMC and moisture which occur frequently, particularly in the case of analog pH measurement. These problems are therefore now a thing of the past. The fact that the sensor data are available at every site means that calibration can be performed centrally in a laboratory. This gives our customers the opportunity to revise their maintenance strategies. Therefore, Memosens increases not only the operating time of pH electrodes but, on the whole, also guarantees considerable cost savings when it comes to maintenance. This excellent technology has the potential to become an industry standard. Indeed, negotiations with various partners are already in full swing to ensure that users will in future be able to purchase Memosens technology from multiple

manufacturers of analytical devices and sensors. It's worth your while switching to Memosens.
